Telpa baudai

Values

Safe environment, open communication, clear boundaries, practice of consent

Peace, security and clarity are needed to take a deep dive into your sensations.

Before beginning of the process we discuss recipient’s wishes, expectations and capabilities, as well as exclude risks and contraindications. I present the recipient with guidelines on professional ethics. Recipient confirms that he/she has been informed and is ready to take full responsibility for his/her actions. All personal and sensitive information remains in the practice room. By agreeing on the framework and boundaries of practice, we open the space for process of healing and transformation.

Focus on body and sensuality

Here we give the body and senses their rightful place.

In the Tantric way body’s embodied intelligence is valued highly. If we allow, our body is directly experiencing the knowledge that our mind is trying to embrace and conceptualize. Unlike in the western paradigm, where intelligence is considered to be person’s core, here we pay great attention to one’s own “core of strength” – pelvis, lower abdomen and lower spine – an area described in theory as the Kundalini seat. After accrual, transformation and refinement this force leads to an intimate acknowledgment — knowledge “from within”.

The space is carefully prepared

Appropriate environment is important for transformational processes offered by Tantra’s body and consciousness techniques. It is no secret that work in the field of body and sexuality is strongly influenced by cultural context and collective assumptions of society.

Cultural space of Latvia carries heavy historical heritage. Misogyny, misandry, sexism, pornification and discrimination are  very common. There is also a long way to go regarding such topics as understanding of consent and respecting boundaries.

Telpa baudai draws a clear line: objectification, fetishization and consumerism are not allowed neither against oneself nor the other person.

Valley Path

In western culture Tantra’s path in most cases is not the first step of a person’s spiritual quest.

Telpa baudai is a place for mature people on their path to self-actualization: it is suitable for people with solid previous practice experience and a range of support resources.

It is tailored for people who want to look into sexual practices as a state of “being” as opposed to “doing” – take a step in the path of the Valley, as we know it from the sexological tractates of ancient China.
